If you want to change the world, begin with a vote. That is the clear message going out from Shri Narendra Modi, as he extols the youth, especially the first time user to go out and first register. With more and more awareness towards the country and its issues cropping up, the need to be part of the process of change is critical and the firs step in that direction is the registration.
Now, there are various steps one needs to take to register as a voter or to make changes.
To begin with, a Voter ID card or Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) is an identification card issued by the Election Commission to all eligible voters, to enable voter identification on Election Day. All those who are already enrolled in the voter list are eligible to receive a voter ID card.
Though, if you do not have a EPIC then you can still vote, however, if you have an EPIC you need to produce it at the voting centre.
However, your name should be in the voter’s list to be eligible to vote.
There are various forms, one can download and depending on their importance, one can fill and submit the same.
Form No. 6 :- For inclusion of your name in the Electoral roll (voter list).
Form No. 7 :- To raise an objection to somebody’s name or for deletion of your own or any other person’s name.
Form No. 8 :- Similarly if any particulars in the electoral roll are to be modified such as name, house number, middle name, last name, age, sex, epic number etc.
